13:00-13:30 Kateryna Karpenko (Kharkiv National Medical University, Ukraine): Eco-cide and -feminism in Ukraine
Prof. Dr. Kateryna Karpenko presented her research on Ecofeminism & Bioethics. In this lecture she explained her idea of Ecofeminism, Cyberfeminism and Bioethics and how these innovative concepts have been developed. Prof. Karpenko also asserts the possibilities of combining Ecofeminism, Cyberfeminism and Bioethics in our daily lives and the relations of different life stories of women that need to be taken into consideration with current and ongoing crises in the world such as the Russian-Ukrainian war.
13:30-14:00 Jil Muller (Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists, Luxembourg/Germany): Women and Their Body
Abstract: Dr. Jil Muller presented her work on Women and Their Body. She focused in particular on 3 interesting points: 1) the lack of knowledge about women’s bodies, which has persisted throughout history; 2) feminist ethics and the perceived weakness of women’s bodies, which continues to exclude women from certain jobs and physical activities; and 3) the social pressure on women to be ‘good’ mothers and the shame they feel about their bodies.
14:00- 14:30 Felix Grewe (Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists, Germany): Donna J. Haraways Concept of Storytelling as an Ecofeminist Perspective: Cyborgs, OncoMouse and Sympoiesis
Abstract: Felix Grewe gave a short introduction into the concept of Storytelling by Donna J. Haraway and her ecofeminist approach of Sympoiesis. The presentation gave a first insight into the idea of connecting humans, animals and previously unthought of species in order to present new ways of living an alternative and sustainable life in a sympoietic style in the face of impending global crises.
