Spotlight on Dr. Manasi Mishra

Dr. Manasi Mishra, Head of the Research & Knowledge Management Division at CSR, is a leading voice in gender equality and social justice. Known for her extensive work against pre-natal sex selection and her advocacy for anti-sexual harassment policies, Dr. Mishra has significantly contributed to shaping a gender-sensitive societal framework. Her dedication is evident in her role as a senior trainer, guiding committees and stakeholders toward equitable solutions. She shares her insights and experiences in a Facebook video on anti-sexual harassment at the workplace. Through her expertise, she continues to inspire collective action for a safer, more inclusive society.

Building on her extensive experience, Dr. Mishra has exhibited exceptional leadership in advocacy and community mobilization, effectively addressing critical gender issues across India. With over 20 comprehensive research studies, she has not only identified but also acted on key areas of concern, mobilizing communities and driving impactful change. As a member of the State Advisory Committee in Delhi under the PC/PNDT Act, she has been instrumental in conducting rigorous medical audits and collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to advance gender-sensitive policies.

Dr. Mishra’s commitment extends to her role in workplace harassment prevention, serving as a member of multiple Gender Redressal Committees established under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act (2013). Her exemplary contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Nav Kiran Award from the Women International Network (WIN), the Samvad Award from the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Delhi, and the Yashodhara Pranati Award from the Buddhist Society of Odisha. In 2016, she was recognized among the 50 Most Influential Persons by the World Knowledge Management Congress, a testament to her enduring impact and dedication to building a more equitable society.
