About this book:

This anthology aims to contribute to changing the canon of the history of philosophy by taking an interest in the corpus, in the form in which the texts are written, and by questioning the criteria that determine what confers philosophical dignity on certain texts and not on others. The aim is to examine the shifts in objects and problems that the inclusion of texts by women philosophers brings about in the history of philosophy.

About the editor:

Anne-Lise Rey is Professor of Philosophy of Science at Paris Nanterre University. Her research focuses on Leibniz, the Enlightenment, and the philosophical canon. She is co-leader of the Extending New Narratives in Philosophy project and has published Émilie du Châtelet, philosophe des sciences (2021) and Margaret Cavendish, un nouvel ordre de la nature ? (2024).
