Dr. Katarina Peixoto (UERJ, Brazil) is joining the Women in Philosophy Bayreuth zoom lecture series with a talk on “Private virtues, public virtues: on the détournement of Mandeville’s Fable of Bees by Du Châtelet. Analysis of some fragments.”
Katarina Peixoto has enriched the work of the Center in the past with talks at the Elisabeth of Bohemia conference and the Libori Summer School 2019. She and her team are also contributing Portuguese translations of our ECC articles since 2019 to make the work of women philosophers more widely available – thank you for your dedication!

About the lecture series:
Women in Philosophy Bayreuth was created by Prof. Dr. Alice Pinheiro Walla in 2017. Aim of the lecture series was to increase the visibility of women philosophers and celebrate their contribution to the discipline. Women in Philosophy Bayreuth is currently being organized together with Maria Eugênia Zanchet, University of Bayreuth.
This lecture series has been funded in the past thanks to the support of the Stabsabteilung Chancengleichheit of the University of Bayreuth.
