Call for Papers: Female Voices, Media, and Modes of Communication in Theology and Philosophy

Online Talk Series — New Voices (March–May 2026)

The New Voices on Women in the History of Philosophy network invites early-career researchers to contribute to its upcoming online talk series Female Voices, Media, and Modes of Communication in Theology and Philosophy (March–May 2026).

Organized in collaboration between the University of Paderborn (Dr. Jil Muller), the Saint Joseph University of Beirut (Dr. Marguerite El Asmar Bou Aoun & Dr. Daniel Fischer), and the University of Lorraine (Dr. Katia Raya), this series explores how women have shaped theological and philosophical discourse through diverse communicative practices — from letters and poetry to activism and digital media. It examines communication as a form of power and agency: How have women used media to establish authority, challenge institutions, and negotiate legitimacy? How do digital spaces today amplify, distort, or reshape these dynamics?

We welcome contributions on topics such as:

  • Historical recoveries of women’s theological and philosophical voices

  • Modes of expression: letters, diaries, literature, and online platforms

  • Institutional status, authority, and recognition

  • Media and digital culture (e.g., feminist theologies, “tradwife” movement)

  • Intersectional approaches linking gender, race, class, and culture

  • Contemporary negotiations of women’s authority in theology and philosophy

Submission Guidelines:
Abstract: 250–300 words
Short Bio: 100 words
Deadline: December 1, 2025
Send to: katia.raya@usj.edu.lb

Seminar Format:
Tuesdays, 17:00–18:30 (CET), March–May 2026
Online | 45-minute presentations + discussion

This series aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on how women’s communicative practices — past and present — continue to transform theological and philosophical thought.
