Anastasia Guidi Itokazu is a Professor of Philosophy at the Federal University of ABC since 2010. She is a member of the NEXOS Group – Critical Theory and Interdisciplinary Research. She works in the area of ​​philosophy, with an emphasis on feminist epistemologies, gender studies, philosophy of science, history of philosophy of nature, history of astronomy and history of the scientific method. Bachelor in Physics from the State University of Campinas (1996).

Her research had until recently been focused on the History of Astronomy, mainly Ptolemy, Copernicus and Kepler. Over the last five years, she became increasingly interested on feminist and decolonial critiques of modern science, as well as on gender studies and the works of women philosophers. Currently, her research has focused on the vitalist conception of matter in the work of Anne Conway. She has also been writing a paper on Kepler’s views on scientific progress, wherein feminist and decolonial critiques on that notion provide the background.

In 2023 she held a talk on Attacks on Brazilian women reproductive rights at the Women and Their Body Conference organized by Jil Muller. You can watch the full talk here.
