Martin Baesler - New Voices Research Profile

I mainly work on Hannah Arendt and use her political theory to address the problems of political judgment in times of digitalization and AI. I am interested in the changes and challenges AI and digitalization pose for our democratic societies, as well as in the theories of political transformation and political judgment, which promise a strong response to the challenges AI poses. I use Hannah Arendt’s theory to further an understanding of how political judgment can meet the challenges AI poses and how we can work with AI, rather than against it. I am the author of Die Freiheit des Individuums als Pointe der politischen Transformation. Eine Analyse des Demokratisierungsparadigmas mit John Dunn und Aristoteles and of Der Einfluss von Big Data auf das politische Urteilen (forthcoming).
