My main research area is early modern philosophy. At the moment, I am particularly interested in two things: (a) philosophical arguments concerning slavery, equality, and liberty in the 16th–18th centuries, and (b) the notion of moral necessity and its uses in early modern discussions about freedom of the will. Both of these projects involve texts written by female philosophers in the early modern period.
