Women Philosophers in Latin American Networks

At the IAPh 2021 we will be introduced to three Latin American Networks on Women Philosophers!

The networks are furthering the exchange and the investigation of women philosophers in the history of philosophy, especially Latin American women philosophers. In order to promote the writings and inclusion of women philosophers and to create a Latin American point of view on the history of philosophy. Further Information will be given during talks at the IAPh 2021.

Cristina Sanchez is going to present the Latin American Network at the IAPh 2021. She  is a member of the University Institute for Women’s Studies of the UAM, and a member of the Academic Council of the Unesco Chair “Gender Policies and Equal Rights between women and men” (UAM-CSIC). Since 2008, she has directed the Master and Doctorate Program in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies at the UAM. 

Cintia Martinez will introduce you to the the network Red de Mujeres Filósofas de América Látina.  She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), She has been a board member of the International Association of Women Philosophers since 2018. 

Silvia Manzo is giving us an presentation on the Red Latinoamericana de Estudios sobre Filósofas en la Historia. Silvia Manzo is a research scholar of the National Research Council (CONICET, Argentina) and Professor of Early Modern Philosophy at the National University of La Plata (UNLP Argentina). She is co-founder of the Latinamerican Network for Studies in Women Philosophers in History created in 2020.
