Women Philosophers in Latin American Networks

The networks are furthering the exchange and the investigation of women philosophers in the history of philosophy, especially Latin American women philosophers. In order to promote the writings and inclusion of women philosophers and to create a Latin American point of view on the history of philosophy. Further Information will be given during talks at the IAPh 2021. Cintia Martinez introduced the network Red de Mujeres Filósofas de América Látina.  She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), She has been a board member of the International Association of Women Philosophers since 2018.

The Elisabeth of Bohemia Prize 2021 was  awarded to Mitieli Seixas da Silva, Professor of Philosophy at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, and member of the research group “Rede Brasileira de Mulheres Filósofas” on the history of women philosophers. The research group is fighting academic prejudice, giving visibility to the work of philosophers, discussing issues of feminism and gender and, above all, doing philosophy. They are a collective of Brazilian professionals engaged in projects about philosophy and women.
