Research Networking with Prof. Dr. Silvia Manzo from Argentina

Prof. Dr. Silvia Manzo from Universidad nacional de la Plata (Argentina) at the Center

On 13 September, the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists was honored to welcome Professor Dr. Silvia Manzo (UNLP-Conicet). Professor Manzo, a distinguished scholar of early modern philosophy and women philosophers, presented her current research project on women in the history of early modern philosophy, entitled “Metaphysics and anthropology in early modern women philosophers”. The project is focused on three research lines: the history of early modern women philosophers; the gendering of philosophical concepts in these philosophers; and the manner in which to teach these women philosophers in the actual curriculum of Argentinian schools.

This was an invaluable occasion for acquiring insight into the substantial research being undertaken by groups across the globe on women philosophers, and for recognising their invaluable contributions to philosophical discourse. It also served to reinforce the connections between the Center and researchers in Latin America.
