In September 2017 the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Philosophie e.V. created a new work group "Frauen in der Geschichte der Philosophie" (Women in the History of Philosophy) directed by Prof. Dr. Ruth Hagengruber.

The work group  “Frauen in der Geschichte der Philosophie” focuses on the study of the contributions of women philosophers in the history of philosophy. It allows networking amongst researchers in the German community but also on an international level. The work group is directed by Prof. Dr. Ruth Hagengruber, who is also the director of the Center HWPS, published the issue The History of Women’s Ideas of The Monist 2015 with Karen Green and is currently editing a special issue of the British Journal of the History of Philosophy together with Sarah Hutton.
