On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists will host a research colloquium featuring a lecture by Dr. Dr. Luka Boršić (Institute for Philosophy, Zagreb). The event is organized by Prof. Dr. Ruth Edith Hagengruber as part of the Center’s regular research series.

In his lecture, Dr. Dr. Luka Boršić will present his research on two prominent female figures of the Renaissance: Maruša Gundulić and Cvijeta Zuzorić. He will explore the extent to which their intellectual and social agency in 16th century Dubrovnik can be interpreted as an early form of radical feminist thought. The talk examines their historical significance and philosophical relevance within the gender norms of their time.
The event is open to the public and no registration is required.
