Announcement of the death of Andrew Brown by the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists

C’est avec un immense regret que nous avons pris connaissance du décès de notre cher ami, collègue, et grand spécialiste d’Émilie du Châtelet, Andrew Brown. Nous n’oublions jamais son ardeur pour promouvoir la philosophie et les femmes philosophes. Son inlassable enthousiasme restera pour nous un exemple à suivre. Nous le remercions pour son soutien infatigable, ensemble avec Ulla Kölving, à notre édition en ligne des manuscripts de Saint-Pétersbourg.

Toutes nos pensées vont à son épouse, Ulla, ainsi qu’à toute sa famille.

It is with deep regret that we learned of the death of our dear friend, colleague and great Émilie du Châtelet specialist, Andrew Brown. We will never forget his passion for promoting philosophy and women philosophers. His tireless enthusiasm will remain for us an example to follow. We thank him for his tireless support, together with Ulla Kölving, in our online edition of the Saint Petersburg MS.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Ulla, and all his family.
