Research Colloquium – Dr. Gabriele Schimmenti: (History of) Philosophy, Politics, and Art in Louise Dittmar (1807–1884)

On 15 May 2025, the Department of Philosophy at Paderborn University invites to a talk by Dr. Gabriele Schimmenti as part of the regular Research Colloquium. Dr. Schimmenti, Postdoctoral Fellow and Adjunct Lecturer at the University Roma Tre (Italy), will present his current research on the intersection of philosophy, politics, and art in the work of Louise Dittmar (1807–1884), offering a feminist perspective on this influential 19th-century thinker. His academic background includes studies and research stays at the University of Cologne, Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Münster, and Università degli Studi di Roma Tre, where he currently teaches. He holds a PhD from the University of Salento. We are delighted to welcome Dr. Gabriele Schimmenti as a Summer Term Fellow at the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists!
