Emancipation & Education in Latin American Women’s Philosophy

 

The Journal of the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists (JHWPS) is now accepting submissions for Volume 4, Issue 1: “Emancipation and Education: Latin American Women Philosophers”, guest edited by Dr. Pedro Pricladnitzky.

This special issue highlights the remarkable contributions of Latin American women philosophers and intellectuals from the 16th to 21st centuries, exploring their interdisciplinary, political, ethical, feminist and decolonial perspectives.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

– Women’s emancipation in Latin American philosophy
– Gender equality & citizenship
– Women’s political rights & participation
– Universal access to education
–  The representation of women’s bodies in philosophy
–  Conceptions of human nature & gender
– Historical debates on women’s intellectual capacities
–  Theoria & Praxis: Women, femininity, and socio-political movements

We welcome original research articles and critical essays from scholars in philosophy, history, women’s studies, Latin American studies, and related fields.
