Feminisms Today. Philosophical Contributions against Violence, Discrimination and Exclusions

July 31 – 04 August 2023

Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Buenos Aires

Venue: José Bonifacio 1443, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires

The 2023 Symposium is the first of the International Association of Women Philosophers to take place in Latin Amercia. This event is an opportunity to promote the work of women philosophers, specially from our region, across all philosophical fields, and in national and international context. The conference focuses on philosophical contributions on Violence, Discrimination and Exclusions. On the other hand, faithful to the spirit of the IAPh, the Symposium constitutes, once again, a privileged space designed to make visible the work done by women and other groups traditionally subalternized by their sex-gender condition throughout the world and in different philosophical disciplines (theoretical philosophy, practical philosophy and history of philosophy).

In our region, philsophical practice often links activism, academic work and institutional management. In this opportunity, the IAPh symposium aims to bring together and highlight the contributions of these practices to adopt an analytical-critical approach and to enrich the problemativ horizon of violence, discrimination and exclusion.
