ELKE FERNER über das 68. Treffen der UN Women
im DAB Podcast: Frauen gestalten die Zukunft.

Gerade geht die Versammlung der 68. Frauenrechtskommission der Vereinten Nationen zu Ende, die mit der (ordentlichen) Übernahme des Vorsitzes durch Saudi Arabiens endete. Die Ergebnisse dieser Veranstaltung wollen wir mit Elke Ferner diskutieren.

Elke Ferner ist seit 2021 Vorstandsvorsitzende der @UN Women Deutschland. Am Treffen nahm sie überdies als Vertreterin der deutschen Delegation teil und war Leiterin des Schwerpunktthemas „Raus aus der Armut“.

Elke Ferner weist eine beeindruckende politische Laufbahn auf. Über viele Wahlperioden gehörte sie dem Bundestag an; von 2004 bis 2018 war sie Bundesvorsitzende der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Sozialdemokratischer Frauen (ASF) und von 2013 bis 2018 parlamentarische Staatssekretärin bei der Bundesministerin für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend.

Seit 2018 ist sie im Vorstand des Deutschen Frauenrats. Elke Ferner setzt durch ihr vielseitiges Wirken in der Politik wichtige Impulse und profilierte sich als starke Stimme für soziale Gerechtigkeit und nachhaltige Entwicklung.

Wir freuen uns auf das Gespräch mit ihr. Nach dem 30-minütigen Interview können die  Teilnehmerinnen mit der Referentin diskutieren.

ELKE FERNER on the 68th meeting of UN Women
in the DAB Podcast: Women shaping the future.

The meeting of the 68th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women has just ended with Saudi Arabia’s (regular) assumption of the chairmanship. We want to discuss the results of this event with Elke Ferner.

Elke Ferner has been Chair of the Board of @UN Women Germany since 2021. She also took part in the meeting as a representative of the German delegation and was head of the focus topic “Out of Poverty”. Elke Ferner has an impressive political career. She was a member of the Bundestag for many electoral terms; from 2004 to 2018, she was Federal Chairwoman of the Association of Social Democratic Women (ASF) and from 2013 to 2018, she was Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
She has been on the board of the German Women’s Council since 2018. Elke Ferner provides important impetus through her multifaceted work in politics and has made a name for herself as a strong voice for social justice and sustainable development. We look forward to talking to her. After the 30-minute interview, participants will be able to discuss with the speaker.
