Workshop: Tracing Modes of Gendered Thinking: Ideation and Philosophie from the Global South (With special Reference to India)

Workshop | all-day |

The Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists (HWPS) is pleased to announce its collaboration with Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Under the leadership of Prof. Priyanka Iha (BHU), long-time collaborator of the Center, a bi-annual workshop will be initiated, supported by the International Association for Women Philosophers (IAPH). See the complete schedule here: BHU Booklet Sedule

This workshop aims to make the rich philosophical tradition of Indian women philosophers accessible to a wider audience. With a focus on providing deep insights into the cultural and intellectual heritage of these women thinkers, it aims to build a bridge between different philosophical traditions.

We are delighted to welcome renowned speakers such as Dr. V. Geetha, a social historian and feminist thinker, and Dr. Manisha Priyam, an expert in education policy and development studies, to the current lecture series. The participation of these two inspiring scholars not only enriches the event thematically but also underscores the importance of interdisciplinary approaches. By combining historical and educational policy perspectives, a comprehensive picture emerges of how philosophy can drive transformative societal change.
