Marking a new Chapter in the Global Growth of the EcoTechGender Network

Official Signing of two Memoranda of Understanding

As part of the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists and the Libori Summer School 2026, two Memoranda of Understanding will be officially signed: one with the University of the Philippines Diliman and one with the Islamic University of Science and Technology (India). These agreements mark an important step in expanding the international network of the Center and strengthening collaborative research on gender, society, technology, and philosophy.

The partnerships are represented by two distinguished scholars who have actively contributed to the development of the EcoTechGender initiative: Prof. Dr. Ma. Theresa T. Payongayong (University of the Philippines Diliman) and Prof. Muzaffar Ali Malla (Islamic University of Science and Technology, India).

Prof. Payongayong is a leading scholar in Filipino philosophy, feminist philosophy, and philosophy for children. As co-editor of the De Gruyter EcoTechGender series alongside Prof. Dr. Ruth Edith Hagengruber, she has played a central role in promoting decolonial and feminist perspectives in contemporary philosophical research. Her forthcoming volume Reclaiming Women’s Spaces: A Critical Acceptance of Filipino Women’s Contributions to Society will appear as Volume 3 of the EcoTechGender series.

Prof. Muzaffar Ali Malla’s research focuses on contemporary Indian philosophy, social and political philosophy, democracy, public justification, and questions of plurality and dialogue. His work contributes important perspectives on social transformation, political participation, and intercultural philosophical exchange, making him a valuable partner in the international development of EcoTechGender.

The EcoTechGender series provides an interdisciplinary platform for research at the intersection of ecology, economy, technology, gender, and society. Bringing together scholars from diverse disciplines and regions of the world, it aims to rethink contemporary challenges through feminist and globally connected perspectives.

We look forward to future collaborations with our partners in the Philippines and India!
