I am a Research Fellow at the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists. My research focuses on the relationship between metaphysics and philosophy of nature in early modern philosophy, with a particular emphasis on the perspectives of Margaret Cavendish and Émilie du Châtelet. I am especially interested in the ontological foundations in the development of scientific theories, the nature of body and motion. Currently, I am working on the critical edition of Émilie du Châtelet’s manuscript of the “Institutions de Physiques.”

Additionally, I am conducting an investigation into the perspectives of Brazilian women authors of the 19th century, such as Nísia Floresta, Josefina Álvares do Azevedo, and Francisca Diniz, on human nature, education, women’s emancipation, and political rights in the context of the formation of the Brazilian republic.

I have edited the volume, “Latin American Perspectives on Women Philosophers in Modern History”, with Katarina Peixoto and Christine Lopes, published by Springer in the Women in the History of Philosophy and Sciences series.
