Dr Priyanka Jha, Assistant Professor, Banaras Hindu University, India is on a visiting fellowship at the Centre for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists,University of Paderborn (Jan-Feb 2024). During her research stay, Dr Jha will be engaging and lecturing on Women Thinkers and Philosophers from Modern India, tracing the long history of women thinking in Non West with focus on the category of emancipation and self esteem. Some of the key events that this fellowship includes, her lecture in the Colloquia of the Department of Philosophy, University of Paderborn. Dr Jha would be delivering a lecture on ‘Recovering the Organic: Women Thinking in Modern India’ on 25th Jan 24. This will be followed by her participation in the Centre’s online colloquia on 1000 Places in 1 world, whereby she will also be leading a roundtable on Indian women voices, based on the Women in Heritage project and series of De Gruyter on 6th Feb 2024. During the course of her stay, she will also be participating in the Centre’s Conversations with Diotima, talking about the rich history of women philosophy from India, but also South Asia.
