Alessandro Mulieri is currently employed by the Research Foundation Flanders as a senior postdoctoral research fellow at KU Leuven. He was a lecturer at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), American University of Rome and University of Amsterdam and conducted long-term visiting stays at University of California – Berkeley, Université de Strasbourg, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Columbia University. Alessandro obtained his Ph.D. at the KU Leuven with a dissertation on the history and theory of political representation and holds degrees in History and Philosophy from University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ (BA and MA) and Political Science from the London School of Economics (MSc). He specializes in the history of political thought and political theory. His current research is especially concerned with the history of late medieval and early modern republican political thought and 20th century Counter-Enlightenment political theory. Currently, he is working on a book manuscript on radical republicanism in late medieval and early modern Italian political thought. His past teaching and writings have further covered the history and theory of political representation, democratic theory and the topic of governance. Alessandro’s research is published in journals such as History of Political Thought, European Journal of Political Theory, British Journal for the History of Philosophy, History of European Ideas,
hilosophy and Social Criticism.
