Due to the development and changes in society, the student image has become more and more culturally multifaceted. The cultural studies especially have made it their goal to make these urgent questions that are a result of this change a subject of discussion. Philosophy proves to be an excellent instrument of discussion and mediation of the student’s diversity by being an ideological and religious neutral discipline.
The diversity project In der Philosophie zu Hause at Paderborn University has made this to its task. It offers a variety of events and seminars which make the philosophical reflexion and discussion of historical and social requirements of heterogeneity possible. Different event types establish multiple possibilities of knowledge acquisition as well as a dialogue between students. The students also actively participate in shaping the content and didactics of the project.
