Edith Landmann-Kalischer (1877-1951) was an German philosopher. She was born in Berlin, Germany, and studied psychology, philosophy and archaeology in Zurich and Berlin. 1901 she finished her docterate in Zurich with her work on  die Analyse der ästhetischen Kontemplation ab. Edith Landmann-Kalischer had to learn greek at the age of 35 to work with writings from antiquity.

Edith Landmann-Kalischer made notable contributions to the field of philosophy. Her main research field was aesthetics.

Landmann-Kalischer’s philosophical interests resulted in the main works Die Transcendenz des Erkennens (1923) and Lehre vom Schönen (1952).
