SUMMARY:IAPh 19th Symposium: Feminisms Today. Philosophical Contributions against Violence\, Discrimination and Exclusions
DESCRIPTION:19th Symposium of the International Association of Women Philosophers (IAPh) \nFeminisms Today. Philosophical Contributions against Violence\, Discrimination and Exclusions \nJuly 31 – 04 August 2023 \nFaculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Buenos Aires \nVenue: José Bonifacio 1443\, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires \nThe 2023 Symposium is the first of the International Association of Women Philosophers to take place in Latin Amercia. This event is an opportunity to promote the work of women philosophers\, specially from our region\, across all philosophical fields\, and in national and international context. The conference focuses on philosophical contributions on Violence\, Discrimination and Exclusions. On the other hand\, faithful to the spirit of the IAPh\, the Symposium constitutes\, once again\, a privileged space designed to make visible the work done by women and other groups traditionally subalternized by their sex-gender condition throughout the world and in different philosophical disciplines (theoretical philosophy\, practical philosophy and history of philosophy). \nIn our region\, philsophical practice often links activism\, academic work and institutional management. In this opportunity\, the IAPh symposium aims to bring together and highlight the contributions of these practices to adopt an analytical-critical approach and to enrich the problemativ horizon of violence\, discrimination and exclusion. \nFind the whole Call for Abstracts here.

SUMMARY:Invited Symposium Expanding the Canon at ECAP11
DESCRIPTION:On August 24\, Ruth E. Hagengruber (Paderborn University)\, Sabrina Ebbersmeyer (University of Copenhagen)\, and Sophia Connell (Birkbeck University of London) will offer a symposium on “Expanding the Canon”. The Invited Symposium is part of this year’s ECAP11. Please find the ECAP11 program as well as further information here. \n  \nIn the Symposium “Expanding the Canon\,” Ruth E. Hagengruber\, Sabrina Ebbersmeyer\, and Sophia Connell discuss the following topics: \nDepictions of ‘typical’ philosophers are almost entirely of white men\, preferably with beards. The idea of a wise\, reflective\, genius type has almost always been a male-coded ideal and for the most part tracks white supremist and exceptionalist ideology. \nSince the 1990s significant progress was made in bringing women philosophers back into our histories of the early modern period (O’Neill 1998\, Hutton 2015). Black feminists made a similar case for black female intellectuals\, some of whom should count as philosophers; these thinkers have been ignored or excluded from our histories mostly due to genre and circumstance (Hill Collins 1990). \nAlongside this positive incorporation of gender and ethnic diversity in the philosophical conversation\, has been the steady progression of an all-white male narrative of analytic philosophy\, written almost exclusively by men (e.g. Soames 2003\, Glock 2008). This story is false and it is easy to prove it to be so \nSophia Connell will introduce the work of a number of very important\, influential and intellectually powerful female philosophers from the period 1830-1970\, whose ideas form the basis of contemporary analytic philosophy. She will particularly touch on Maria W. Stewart\, whose public speeches contain the roots of civic rights arguments still crucial to political philosophy\, Dr Sophie Bryant\, the first woman to hold a postdoctoral degree in Philosophy in the United Kingdom\, who advocated for education for women and minorities through virtue-based discussions\, Professor Grace De Laguna\, whose speculative brand of philosophical investigation is still influential\, and Professor Alice Ambrose Lazerowitz\, whose transatlantic ponderings in the early 1930s would help to shape the very way we do philosophy today. \nRuth Hagengruber will reflect on how women have critically examined the concepts of philosophy\, discussed or questioned the history of philosophy itself\, exposed idolatry\, and were active in important areas of religious criticism. She will briefly discuss Du Chatelet and Kant to illustrate the problems that arise from this sexist exclusion and that shape a history of philosophy that is still marked by abridgements\, half-truths and plagiarism. \nSabrina Ebbersmeyer will talk about mechanisms of exclusion\, text genres\, and modes of writing historiography\, and will be mostly focussing on the German context during the 19th century.

SUMMARY:Voices from Ukraine: Women Philosophers and Scientists Against War and Ecocide
DESCRIPTION:Where: University of Paderborn\, Paderborn\, Germany \nWhen: October 27th-28th\, 2023 \nType of Conference: Hybrid \nThe conference is organized by Prof. Dr. Kateryna Karpenko\, Director of the Center for Gender Education of  National Medical University (KHNMU) & Prof. Dr. Ruth E. Hagengruber\, Director of the internationally acting Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists. This project has received funding through the MSCA4Ukraine project\, which is funded by the European Union. The talks will be held in Englisch. Discussions can be in English\, German and Ukrainian. In addition an Ukrainian-German Interpreter (Prof. Dr. Volodymyr Abashnik) will be present via Zoom. \nToday\, it is becoming obvious that demonstrating its inability to win in a direct military confrontation\, Russia is purposefully implementing traditional\, patriarchal tactics of domination to destroy the Ukrainian economy and environment. \nThe purpose of this conference\, on the one hand\, is to show\, that the airstrikes mainly target Ukraine’s critical life support infrastructure\, industrial facilities\, oil and fuel depots\, chemical and pharmaceutical depots\, public utilities such as sewage pumping stations\, power stations and railways. \nOn the other hand\, the task is to prove that this tactic being accompanied by a public demonstration and self-praise of the masculine superiority of the leaders is a pathetic imitation of it. It will be disclosed the fact that the Russian war against Ukraine means violence\, poverty\, forced displacement\, broken lives\, insecurity and lack of a future\, depletion of nature\, and ecocide. \nThe important topics of discussions will be the ontological\, phenomenological\, and existential dimensions of ecocide at the time and after the war. Ecofeminism and the ethics of care will become the methodological basis for analyzing the phenomena of ecocide. \nThe speakers include Oksana Zabuzhko (Receiver of France’s Legion of Honor)\, Dr. Tatiana Perga (Senior Researcher of ‘Institute of World History of National Academy of Science of Ukraine’)\, Dr. Iryna Utiuzh (Department of Social Sciences\, Zaporizhzhia State Medical University)\, Dariya Tsymbalyuk\, Iryna Zamuruyeva\, Pina Piccolo\, Prof. Dr. Tetiana Gardashuk\, Cynthia R. Nielsen (Professor of Philosophy at the University of Dallas)\, Valeria Korablyova\, Angela Boyko\, Mariya Shcherbyna\, Tentyana Chumachenko\, Natalia Martynenko\,Oksana Nakonechna. \nFor Registration\, send an e-mail to contact@historyofwomenphilosophers.org with the subject “VoFUkr Registration”. Also include if you will participate online or in-person. \nHere is the Preliminary Program. \n \n

SUMMARY:David Owen on Khadīja Bint al-‘Āqil: Logician of Islamic West Africa
DESCRIPTION:On the 20th of November at 3pm David Owen will give a talk on Khadīja Bint al-‘Āqil: Logician of Islamic West Africa at the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists. David Owen studies the history of logic in the western Islamicate world. He is especially interested in formal patterns of reasoning in the legal education of big religious traditions\, and especially within the cultural continuum of the Bissau-to-Bilbao complex. In Fall 2023\, David will defend his dissertation in Arabic & Islamic Studies at Harvard University\, where he has also completed the Secondary Field in Classical Philosophy. The dissertation provides the first treatment of the Avicennan logic of a prominent west Saharan luminary\, Ghadīja (Khadīja) Mint (Bint) al-‘Āqil (d. ca. 1835).  \nSee here the abstract of the talk: Ghadīja (Khadīja) Mint (Bint) al-‘Āqil al-Daymānīya (d. ca. 1835) flourished at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century in the southwestern Sahara\, in the Gebla region of today’s Mauritania. A brief review of women’s contributions to the history of logic underscores Ghadīja’s historical importance\, as one of only two women authors on logic prior to Frege with a complete\, extant work on logic. Khadīja’s Ṭurra ‘alā l-Sullam is the best known\, and most reliably preserved\, textual record of her teaching across the intellectual sciences of the Core Curriculum of Islamic West Africa (Hall and Stewart\, 2010). Her Ṭurra\, still being glossed and reproduced for study in Mauritania\, is a commentary on a 16th century arjūza of Avicennan logic\, the Sullam al-murawnaq. The Sullam was composed by the Algerian scholar ‘Abd al-Raḥmān al-Akhḍarī\, and is arguably the most widely studied work of Arabic logic in the world today. In this talk\, I introduce the audience to what is known about Ghadīja’s life\, teaching\, and legacy. I compare Ghadīja’s treatment in the sources to that of her brother and student Aḥmad\, and unveil a digital archive for Arabic logic texts\, with the work of al-Akhḍarī and Ghadīja as its centerpiece. The research results herein show the relevance of gender to\, as well as the utility of text-editing\, digital archiving\, and comparative scholasticism for\, the field of Arabic logic. \nWe are excited to welcome Prof. Dr. Peter Adamson as respondent from David Owens talk. Peter Adamson’s primary areas of interest are late ancient philosophy and Arabic philosophy. His two monographs deal with the Arabic version of Plotinus\, the so-called “Theology of Aristotle\,” and with al-Kindi (d. after 870 AD). He has devoted articles to several figures of the Greek tradition: Aristotle\, Plotinus\, and Porphyry; and numerous philosophers of the Arabic tradition\, including al-Kindi\, Abu Bakr al-Razi\, Yahya Ibn ‘Adi\, Miskawayh\, Avicenna\, and Averroes. He has also edited and co-edited numerous books\, including “The Cambridge Companion to Arabic Philosophy\,” three further volumes on philosophy in the Islamic world for the Warburg Institute\, several volumes for the Institute of Classical Studies including “Philosophical Themes in Galen\,” and “Interpreting Avicenna: Critical Essays” for Cambridge University Press.

SUMMARY:1000 Places in 1 World - Absent Women’s Voices in Classical\, Modern and Contemporary Indian Philosophy
DESCRIPTION:An intercontinental New Voices seminar. Hosted by the Centre for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists. \nThis online seminar\, dedicated to 1000 Places in 1 World\, is a collaboration with colleagues from universities around the world\, including contributions from the Philippines\, Brazil\, Mexico\, India and Tanzania. The seminar brings to life the research and dissemination of the ideas of women philosophers across the centuries and from different parts of the world. \nContemporary cultural criticism focuses on issues of race and class. The systematic and global oppression of women and the almost global totalitarian erasure of their cultural and intellectual heritage are virtually absent from these debates.\nYet this oppression and erasure is global. And the fact that this oppression is central to the global spread of violence can be seen almost everywhere. Thus\, the current supposedly critical discourse is not so different from earlier discourses of violence and oppression; it continues to build on patriarchal dominance and rhetoric and actions that glorify violence.\nThis seminar sees itself as a signal against this politics. 1000 Places in 1 World is a collaboration of intercultural and intercontinental partners. Its aim is to revive\, interpret and preserve the cultural and intellectual heritage of women.\nThe event is organised by the Centre for the History of Women Philosophers. It is directed by Ruth Edith Hagengruber.\nThe seminar will begin on Tuesday 9 January 2024 at 16.00 CET/IST 8.30 in Zoom. It will consist of six sessions and will end on the 6th of February 2024. \n2024\, January 9\, at 4.00 pm (CET/IST 8.30 via Zoom): Absent Women’s Voices in Classical\, Modern and Contemporary Indian Philosophy\, led by the Collective for Women Philosophers in India\, featuring the speakers: Dr. Richa Schukla\, Indian Institute of Technology\, Bhubaneshwar\, India\, Co-founder of CWPI; Dr. Muzaffar Ail\, Savitribai Phule Pune University\, Co-founder of CWPJ\, Mansi Rathour\, OP Jindal Global University\, Co-founder of CWPJ. \nIf you want to join online\, just write an email to contact@historyofwomenphilosophers.org

SUMMARY:1000 Places in 1 World - Women in Philippine History
\n2024\, January 30 at 4 pm (CET/IST 8.30 via Zoom): Women in Philippine History. Presented by Professor Ma. Theresa T. Payongayong\, PhD\, Professor of Philosophy\, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs\, University of the Philippines\, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy\, University of the Philippines Diliman.

SUMMARY:New Voices Summer 2024: Food\, Plants\, Remedies and Healing Practices: Women’s Ideas in the History of Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Giulia Guidara (Giunta Centrale per gli Studi Storici\, Roma): From Body to Soul: Mental Disorders in Hildegard of Bingen’s Cause et cure \nThe Cause et cure of Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) is both a cosmological text and a medical handbook. This double aspects\, so to speak\, of the work is not surprising: in medieval Europe human beings and nature are deeply interconnected. As the title Cause et cure suggests\, most of the work focuses on the causes and natural treatment of several diseases. Hildegard’s idea of disease is very different from the present one: sickness always derives from a physiological change of the body. The reference framework is the humoral theory\, according to which the four humors\, or bodily fluids\, (i.e. blood\, phlegm\, yellow bile and black bile) affect temperament\, physical qualities and health. However\, some diseases described in the Cause et cure mainly affect mood and behaviour and\, in this regard\, they can be assimilated to the modern concept of mental disorders. Indeed\, the DSM-5 of the American Psychiatric Association (that is the reference book for mental health and brain-related conditions) defines mental disorder as a behavioural or psychological syndrome or pattern\, which is characterized by an important disturbance in an individual’s cognition\, emotion regulation\, or behaviour. My lecture will analyse the passages of Cause et cure devoted to diseases that affect mood and behaviour\, with a special focus on their causes and their possible treatment. This allows to highlight both Hildegard’s ideas on the relationship between soul and body\, and medieval concept of mental illness.

SUMMARY:Émilie Du Châtelet’s Scientific Methodology Hypotheses and the Principles of Knowledge
DESCRIPTION:International Online Conference \nÉmilie Du Châtelet’s Scientific Methodology: Hypotheses and the Principles of Knowledge \n23rd/24th of May 2024 \nOrganized by Clara Carus\, Head of the DFG-Research Project :The Relationship between the Theory of Hypotheses and the Principles of Knowledge in Émilie Du Châtelet \nat the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists \nKeynote Address: Katherine Brading (Duke University) \nInterest and scholarship on Du Châtelet has been growing exponentially recently. Many Du Châtelet scholars see her newfound scientific methodology at the heart of her philosophy. Du Châtelet developed an intriguing theory of hypotheses\, elaborating on the scope\, legitimacy\, content and proper establishment of hypotheses. Furthermore\, she put forward an account of knowledge on the basis of self-evident axiomatic principles of knowledge. In Du Châtelet’s scientific methodology the principles of knowledge and the theory of hypotheses stand in a compelling relation. Du Châtelet takes up important ideas from Descartes\, Leibniz\, Wolff\, Locke and Newton (among others) and develops them further in her scientific methodology\, while consciously distancing herself from other aspects of their works. \nThis workshop features some of the most prominent Du Châtelet scholars as well as international experts in Early Modern Methodology and is committed to exploring Du Châtelet’s scientific methodology in its content and historic significance. It will be a fun and inclusive event\, which is open to students and faculty alike. \nAll are welcome and attendance is free. Please register at clara.carus@uni-paderborn.de with your name\, email address and affiliation (if applicable). \nSpeakers: Katherine Brading (Keynote)\, Fatema Amijee\, Peter Anstey\, Clara Carus\, Katherine Dunlop\, Andrew Janiak\, Ruth Hagengruber\, Qiu Lin\, Pedro Prikladnitzky\, Andrea Reichenberger\, Natalia Lorena Zorrilla Sirlin\, Aaron Wells \nDates: 23rd of May 2024 1.45pm-5.30pm CET & 24th of May 2024 9.45am-5.30pm CET \nLocation: Online/Zoom \nFull program here.

SUMMARY:New Voices Summer 2024: Food\, Plants\, Remedies and Healing Practices: Women’s Ideas in the History of Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Jana Schreiber (University of Marburg): Anna Margaretha Wiedemann – A healing woman and her patients in early modern Frankfurt \nIn 1670\, a conflict between Frankfurt surgeons and the healer Anna Margaretha Wiedemann broke out. The surviving sources offer deep insights into the practice of women healers in the early modern period\, who treated their patients\, competing with male doctors and barbers. In addition to statements by Wiedemann and the surgeons\, there are numerous testimonies from patients\, which shed light on the coping strategies used by the community to deal with diseases. They also show the expectations and duties that were set and fulfilled by patients\, their social environment and the healers. \nThe lecture will address the following questions: \nHow did the relationship between healers\, patients and their social environment take form? What knowledge and forms of medical treatment were used by the practitioners? How were disease and health defined and differentiated by the protagonists? \n  \n  \nAbout the Speaker: \nJana Schreiber is a PhD Student at Philipps-Universität Marburg where she works on the project The Actors in the Frankfurt Medical System in the Early Modern Period: Conflicts\, Competition and Complementarity.

SUMMARY:New Voices Summer 2024: Food\, Plants\, Remedies and Healing Practices: Women’s Ideas in the History of Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Dr.  Justin Begley (University of Basel) Dr. Benjamin Goldberg (University of South Florida\, USA): Margaret Cavendish and the Medical Establishment \nThis talk explores how the seventeenth-century philosopher Margaret Cavendish interacted with the medical world of her time. We examine a set of historiographical issues arising from a manuscript collection of her and William’s medical recipes\, MS Pw V90\, preserved in the archives of the University of Nottingham. Our transcription and analysis of this manuscript (The Medical World of Margaret Cavendish\, Palgrave-MacMillan: 2023) challenges the common view that Cavendish opposed traditional Galenic medicine as well as the Scholastic tradition. In grappling with her views on professional medicine\, we also investigate whether Cavendish faced any discrimination or mistreatment from her doctors because of her gender\, as some have suggested\, focusing on her relationship to one of her physicians in particular\, the prominent doctor Théodore de Mayerne. Along the way\, we highlight the medical achievements (mainly in the recipe field) of other noblewomen in Cavendish’s network. \n  \nAbout the Speakers: \n\n\nJustin Begley is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Basel who focuses on early modern literature and intellectual history\, particularly on the histories of science\, medicine\, and the book.\nBenjamin Goldberg is an Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida in Tampa. His work focuses on the intersection of natural philosophy and medicine in late Renaissance and early modern Europe including the history of medicine and authors such as Fernel\, Harvey\, and Descartes.

SUMMARY:New Voices Summer 2024: Food\, Plants\, Remedies and Healing Practices: Women’s Ideas in the History of Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Madeleine Sheahan (Yale University): Seasonality and Slaughter: Sourcing Animal-Ingredients in Seventeenth-Century Household Medicine \nSpringtime was an industrious season of the 17th century household. In a period of domestic production and proactivity\, household medical practitioners worked to prevent illness and preserve health. The perceived environmental subjectivity of the body encouraged practitioners to prepare stocks of medicine for a host of ailments believed to arise from changing climatic\, ecological\, and astrological conditions\, as well as shifts in human activity\, labour\, and diet. At the same time as the changing environment threated the health of the body\, springtime opened new possibilities to sources natural ingredients for the making of remedies. Of note was the provisioning of pregnant and juvenile animals\, made readily available by the changing season and desired for their perceived medical efficacy. Turning to these seasonal aspects of domestic medical care\, this talk provides an analysis of animal sourcing and processing techniques recommended in a series of seventeenth-century English manuscripts recipes authored by women. In highlighting the interconnected issues of seasonality\, medical provisioning\, and animal utility\, it illuminates a domestic epistemology of animal use and value\, as well as the local\, environmental specificity of household medicine in the seventeenth century. \n  \nAbout the Speaker: \nMadeleine is a PhD student in the History of Science and Medicine and Santorio Global Fellow at the University of Parma. Her research examines the social history of female healthcare and the variability of local medical marketplaces in sixteenth and seventeenth-century Italy. She is particularly interested in the relationship between midwifery and pharmacology\, with a focus on the therapeutic activities of lay women who operated on the periphery of conventional academic\, monastic\, and guild settings.

SUMMARY:New Voices Summer 2024: Food\, Plants\, Remedies and Healing Practices: Women’s Ideas in the History of Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Amalia Cerrito (University of Trento): Female seeds\, powers\, and bodies: Albert the Great and the vegetal sexuality \nThe 13th-century Dominican master Albert the Great extensively discusses vegetal sexuality. While animals reproduce through the mating of female and male individuals\, plants lack a sexual distinction\, reproducing through seeds that contain all necessary conditions for plant generation. Furthermore\, the primary paternal and maternal functions\, such as fertilization\, generative material provision\, and nourishment during development\, do not involve individuals of the same plant species. External causal agencies perform these functions\, like the Sun and the soil (traditionally regarded as the “father and mother of plants”). Despite the evident differences in animal and plant generation\, Albert uses concepts such as “male and female”\, “motherhood and fatherhood”\, to explain vegetal sexuality. He is convinced that “male and female” and “motherhood and fatherhood” manifest in nature to varying degrees\, ranging from the most perfect nature\, i.e.\, human beings\, to the less perfect\, i.e.\, plants. Applying these categories to plants\, he develops an explanatory model that aims to identify causal roles and powers of male and female\, fatherhood and motherhood\, in proportion to plant generation\, using a comparative approach modeled on animal generation. In Albert’s view\, plants lack sexually differentiated bodies not due to a factual absence of “male and female” attributes\, powers\, and causation outright\, but rather as a consequence of their ontological status not due to a factual absence of “male and female” attributes\, powers\, and causation outright\, but rather as a consequence of their ontological status. Plants express masculinitas and femininitas proportionally to their nature. The examination of plant generation provides an opportunity to elucidate these concepts\, defining the essential aspects and causal roles of male and female functions and features. In this lecture\, I will focus on how Albert employs concepts such as the female “body”\, “seed”\, and “power”\, in his investigation on vegetal sexuality. By developing the analogy between the uterus/terra/mater (uterus/soil/mother)\, he adapts the Galenic humoral-complexion theory to the soil and identifies maternal and feminine properties and powers even in the simplest living body —namely\, that of plants. \n  \nAbout the Speaker: \nAmalia Cerrito is an Associate Fellow of the Centre for the Study of Medicine and the Body in the Renaissance and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Trento where she works on a project titled Between Science and Myth: Albert the Great\, his Sources and his Followers” (PRIN 2022: “Itineraries of Philosophy and Science from Baghdad to Florence: Albert the Great\, his Sources and his Legacies”). She received her PhD in Philosophy in 2020 jointly by the University of Pisa and the University of Florence. In 2022 her work on Albert the Great and the ‘virtus formativa’ was awarded the Santorio Award for Excellence in Research.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Mind\, Consciousness and Perception in Cavendish
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce an upcoming online workshop on “Cavendish: Mind\, Consciousness and Perception\,” which will be held on 25 and 26 July\, 2024. The workshop is organized by Pedro Pricladnitzky and Aaron Wells. Invited speakers: \nColin Chamberlain (University College London) \nMarcy Lascano (University of Kansas) \nAlison Peterman (University of Rochester \nJonathan Shaheen (University of Uppsala) \nSubmitted talks: \nOlivia Branscum (University of Oklahoma) \nJan Forsman (University of Iowa) \nKevin Lower (Villanova University) \nMilena Monteiro Rodrigues (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) \nThis workshop aims to explore the philosophical perspectives of Margaret Cavendish regarding the nature of the mind in the context of early modern philosophy and its relations to contemporary discussions. Submissions concerning the philosophy of mind and the theory of knowledge within the context of Cavendish’s work\, interpreted broadly\, align perfectly with the goals of our workshop. We are especially keen on perspectives that highlight Cavendish’s departure from conventional notions of consciousness\, while emphasizing the interconnectedness of mind\, body\, and environment. \nMargaret Cavendish (1623-1673)\, one of the most remarkable figures in early modern philosophy\, made significant contributions to metaphysics\, philosophy of nature\, epistemology\, and philosophy of mind. Despite being overshadowed by her contemporaries\, her works offer profound insights into questions surrounding the mind\, consciousness\, and perception. She was a critic of the dominant mechanistic philosophy and proposed an alternative organicist explanation of nature\, challenging the prevailing views of thinkers like Hobbes and Descartes. Cavendish’s unique metaphysical views anticipated later philosophers like Spinoza and Leibniz and contributed to a more nuanced understanding of nature’s order and infinitude. Her work also  presents an early form of naturalism\, resonating with contemporary philosophy and scientific inquiry. Additionally\, it provides valuable insights relevant to ongoing inquiries into whether the entities surrounding us possess consciousness and intelligence. \nTalk titles\, schedule\, and registration details will follow soon! \nFor registration/zoom link contact: wells@mail.uni-paderborn.de
